Our AFA (Approved, Forecast and Actuals) Burn Report solution tracks margins at the Project, Department, Role, and User level over time
To use it…
We will help you run our “Package Installation” to install our AFA Burn Report solution into your Workfront instance, including the dashboards, Magic Reports, filters, views, and additional custom data that allows users to run our Baselineᐩ solution, which drives the detailed data against which the report then generates. Track margins on multi-currency projects in a drill down fashion at the project, department, role, and user level across any timespan
Refer to the AFA Burn Report video and the AFA Burn Report Origin Story video in the Media section, which include a detailed functionality review and philosophical discussion, respectively.
Once installed, the resulting AFA Burn Report with Baselineᐩ solution then provides all of the following:
- Click the selected Project’s AFA Burn Report custom section
- Choose the desired Date Range
- Choose Page Height (set to maximum by default)
- Show funds in either USD (default) or the Project currency
- Choose the desired drill-down level of detail: Total, Department, Role, or User (default)
- Set the optional Delta Cutoff +/- amount to control positive (blue) and negative (red) highlighting
- Click View Report
- Right click to toggle xls, pdf, pptx, doc, or tiff, then left click to download
- Margin Summary with Approved (Baseline) vs Forecast (Planned) vs Actuals Price to Client, Hours, Hours Cost, Expenses, Total Cost, Margin, and Margin %
- Sum up with Average Rates by Total, Department, Role, and User
- Approved (Baseline) Internal Rate / hr, Hours, and Hour Costs
- Forecast (Planned) Internal Rate / hr, Hours, and Hour Costs
- Scope Creep Costs and Cost %
- Actuals Internal Rate / hr, Hours, and Hour Costs
- Approved Remaining Hours, Costs, and Cost %
- Burn Projection Future Hours, Future Costs, and (Future + Actual) Projected Hours and Costs to provide continuous and realistic feedback in real-time
To then configure it for the Users of interest:
- Share the AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Standalone), AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Project) and AtAppDemo AFA Burn Report (Project) dashboards with those Users of interest (e.g. manually, via a group, or make Visible System-Wide)
- Share the AFAR Price To Client custom form with those Users of interest (e.g. manually, via a group, or make Visible System-Wide), grant them View access (e.g. manually, via a group, etc.), and populate the AFAR Price to Client custom parameter (in the Project currency) for each Project of interest
- Use the AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Standalone) and/or AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Project) dashboards to generate the Baselineᐩ data that drives the detailed data against which the report then generates
- Add our AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Standalone), AtAppDemo Baselineᐩ (Project) and AtAppDemo AFA Burn Report (Project) dashboards and custom sections to those Users of interest either manually (temporarily, to test), or (recommended, when you are ready) via their Layout Templates
And finally, to test it for the Users of interest:
- Login As one of those Users of interest (for context)
- Open the AtAppDemo AFA Burn Report (Project) custom tab on a Project of interest
- Choose the Date Range of interest
- Set the Report Settings (e.g. “USD = Yes”, etc.)
- Click View Report to render the report
- Assess the results (e.g. adjusting the Report Settings and re-running the report to Show more details)
